Today I started working on a quilt to put on display at the Railsplitter Festival in September. The quilt guild I belong to, Quilters at Heart, has a quilt show every other year in conjunction with the Annual Abraham Lincoln Railsplitter Festival. This year the festival is all about celebrating the 200th year since Lincoln’s birth so many of the quilts we will be displaying will have a Lincoln theme. The quilt I am working on is made up of blocks called Lincoln Log Cabins. Here is a diagram of the design:

I took a few pictures of the process of cutting the fabric with a rotary cutter and a cutting mat:
And a picture of some of the fabric after cutting:
It will be very patriotic looking with red, white, and blue fabric with different colored stars. I have been sewing the blocks together today. I will take pictures of the blocks in process and post them tomorrow. For now I am fixin’ to go to bed and get some z’s.
Night-Night!
