Here’s the quilt top!

I finished putting this quilt top together last night and here are some pics of it. I didn’t have anyone to hold it up for me so I hung it on the headboard of my bed (made from old doors I found in the garage): The top sashing is not visible since it is folded over the top of the headboard.

I am still looking for 1/2 yd of the navy blue fabric to use for the binding.

Quilt top is finished

The Stars & Stripes Forever quilt top is all together now. Here are some pics of the process:

Part of the pieces are laid out on the dining table

The rest of the pieces are laid out on the floor

I will post a pic of the completed quilt top tomorrow. It is smaller than I thought it would be. It is a good size throw. I thought it would be twin size, but that’s ok; we will probably use it more as a throw anyway.I still am looking for more of the star fabric for the binding:

Here is a picture of the fabric I need:

I have another quilt that I started to hand-piece about 10 years ago. I think I will finish it up on the sewing machine. It is a Jacob’s Ladder block. Some of you have probably seen me working on it from time to time.

Our Guild is going to make Christmas stockings for the troops so I will be working on that too. State Farm is collecting the stockings and will stuff them with Christmas goodies and ship them to our soldiers overseas.

I am trying to learn how to use Dreamweaver to create web pages and to revise web pages I have already made. Right now it seems very complicated. Maybe I need a “Dreamweaver for Dummies” book. I built my first web pages by using the “Web Pages for Dummies”.

Gotta get some sleep. More tomorrow.

Nighty-night, sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite!

I was able to get the quilt top partly put together today. I didn’t get any pictures though. Hopefully I will remember to take some pics tomorrow. Right now it is spread out on my dining room table and on the floor next to the table. I am short on the fabric I need to make the binding so I will have to see if I can find any of it. Maybe someone in the quilt guild will have some. I only need 1/2 yd.

Here is a picture of the fabric I need:

If anyone has any of this fabric please contact me. Thanks.

Good night.

I have been working on the quilt top for the last few days, cutting, and sewing. There are 855 pieces to be sewn together to complete this top. Here are some photos of the process:

The blocks are all constructed now. The sashing is also finished. So now I just have to sew the rows together with the sashing in between. Maybe I can get that done tomorrow. If so I will post more pics then.

Thanks for visiting!

Today I started working on a quilt to put on display at the Railsplitter Festival in September. The quilt guild I belong to, Quilters at Heart, has a quilt show every other year in conjunction with the Annual Abraham Lincoln Railsplitter Festival. This year the festival is all about celebrating the 200th year since Lincoln’s birth so many of the quilts we will be displaying will have a Lincoln theme. The quilt I am working on is made up of blocks called Lincoln Log Cabins. Here is a diagram of the design:

I took a few pictures of the process of cutting the fabric with a rotary cutter and a cutting mat:

And a picture of some of the fabric after cutting:

It will be very patriotic looking with red, white, and blue fabric with different colored stars. I have been sewing the blocks together today. I will take pictures of the blocks in process and post them tomorrow. For now I am fixin’ to go to bed and get some z’s.

Night-Night!

The pictures below were taken at the Marriott’s Grande Vista Hotel in Orlando Florida this past winter. It was like paradise there.

This is a new and improved blog (so they say). We will find out if that is true. Let’s talk. About anything you want to talk about…..except I really hate to talk politics cause everybody gets so dramatic and sometimes nasty about it. I am a single issue voter—I only vote for pro-life candidates. I don’t really care what political party they belong to as long as they are truly pro-life. And that’s all I want to say about that.

Does anybody have any family news? Leave a comment if you do and I will post about it.

Well, I gotta go to sleep cause I gotta get up in the morning.

Love to all,

Darlajune
